Pakistani President receives Speaker, praises Bahrain's role in fostering peace

Islamabad, Nov. 18 (BNA): President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, praised the depth of the Bahraini-Pakistani relations, commending the pioneering achievements of the Kingdom of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He also lauded Bahrain’s active role at the regional and international level and the kingdom’s cooperation with the international community to foster peace and stability in the region. The Pakistani President was speaking as he received in Islamabad today Speaker of the Representatives Council Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal and her accompanying parliamentary delegation on the occasion of their official visit to Pakistan at an invitation by the Speaker of the National Assembly. The Pakistani President stressed cooperation between both countries to promote growth and prosperity. He commended the efforts of the Bahraini government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, pointing out HRH’ s distinguished role in leading the Bahraini Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Pakistani President pointed out the significant role played by the legislative councils in promoting relations and cooperation between both countries mainly in the investment field. He conveyed sincere greetings to HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, lauding the care given to the Pakistani community in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Representatives Council Speaker conveyed the greetings of HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to the President of Pakistan. She commended the pivotal role of Pakistan at the regional and international level and its unwavering stances in supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain. She also praised bilateral cooperation in various fields, stressing common parliamentary keenness to promote bilateral cooperation.
