Parliament Speaker hails late Kuwaiti Amir’s legacy

Manama, Sept.29 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal paid homage to the Amir of Kuwait His Highness Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who passed away today, leaving behind a prolific legacy of landmark achievements for the sake of his country, the Arab and Islamic nations. She extended sincere condolences to the people of Kuwait, the Arab and Islamic nations, hailing the deceased’s wisdom and statesmanship and role in his country’s development, progress and prosperity. “The Arab and Islamic nations have lost a charismatic leader, and prominent advocate of peace, co-existence and tolerance,”, she said, hailing his decades-long endeavor to support Arabian Gulf unity and bolster pand-Arab solidarity. In a statement today’ the Speaker praised the late Amir’s humanitarian record and dedicated efforts to achieve rapprochement and promote dialogue and amity between countries and peoples, which earned him international recognition. She commended steadily-growing relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait in the era of the late Amir, hailing his keenness on strengthening historic fraternal ties and supporting the King of Bahrain in all circumstances.
