Parliamentary delegation's Executive Committee backs Saudi initiative; supports Egypt

Manama, Mar. 31 (BNA): The Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Delegation today held its third meeting under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal. The panel discussed topics on its agenda, and reviewed the correspondences addressed to it by Arab, Islamic and international parliamentary unions, as well as the reports of parliamentary delegations to various meetings. The Executive Committee stressed the importance of continuous cooperation and coordination with various legislative councils and organisations, and the role of parliamentary diplomacy in highlighting the kingdom’s civilisational, human rights and economic achievements, under the comprehensive development march spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Executive Committee expressed support for Saudi Arabia’s initiative to end the Yemeni crisis and reach a comprehensive political solution in Yemen. It also reiterated Bahrain’s solidarity with brotherly Egypt in preserving its national and water security, through supporting efforts to solve the crisis of the filling of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam in a way that would preserve the rights of the relevant countries and ensure regional security and stability.
