Partnership with Boao Forum for Asia opens up new development perspectives for St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

BOAO /China, Hainan Province/, March 28. /TASS/. The partnership with the Boao Forum for Asia opens up new development perspectives for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Chairman of Board of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Foundation Sergey Belyakov said Saturday. "For us it is a very notable support and an additional opportunity to develop the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The forum will become even more interesting thanks to this opportunity. Hopefully, our colleagues from the Boao Forum for Asia will see the same advantages from this kind of cooperation, Belyakov said. "Amid international instability the biggest business forums confirm their moves in developing partnership and strengthening cooperation. The memorandum is based on the principles of openness and freedom, as well as independence of business-dialogue from geopolitical factors. Our joint work will be focused on mutually beneficial cooperation in preparations to both Forums," he said. Belyakov added that "the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is one of the biggest in the world, while the Boao Forum for Asia is the biggest in Asia. And it’s not just a question of cooperation between two conferences rather a question of developing cooperation between two economies." "Just like any conference we provide access to expertise, to potential business projects as well as give business an opportunity to solve problems," Belyakov said. The representatives of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Boao Forum for Asia signed a memorandum of cooperation on the sidelines of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference in China’s Hainan Province on Saturday. Around 2,000 politicians, economists and representative of business community are participating in the forum this year. The Russian delegation is headed by First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov.
