PEA offices in South attacked

YALA, Aug 30 (TNA) - Unknown numbers of attackers hurled a homemade Molotov cocktail and sprayed bullets into the Provincial Electricity Authority office in Pattani last night while another PEA office in Yala was hit by an arson attack. The incidents are initially believed to be linked to southern insurgency said Deputy police spokesman Kritsana Pattanacharoen. National police chief Pol General Chakthip Chaijinda ordered the police to hunt the assailants and speed up investigation into the previous similar cases, in which the culprits remain at large. The officials will step up measures to prevent and suppress untoward incidents to ensure public safety and build confidence among locals, tourists and investors. (TNA)
