The Peninsula Praises Efforts of Healthcare Professionals in Fighting Coronavirus

Doha, November 17 (QNA) - The Peninsula newspaper, in its Tuesday editorial, praised the efforts of the healthcare professionals in Qatar who worked relentlessly on the frontline throughout this pandemic to deliver care of world-class standards to thousands of COVID-19 patients during the past months, emphasizing that the efficiency of the countrys healthcare system has been proved by the smooth transition from the peak to the flattening of the COVID-19 curve. The newspaper highlighted the statements of HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), during the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) 2020 under the banner of "One World, Our Health", when she praised the healthcare workers and researchers by saying "I salute healthcare workers in Qatar, and globally, for their tremendous efforts in fighting this pandemic, protecting lives, and tirelessly striving to create a better, healthier world. Our youth should exemplify and emulate them in their altruism, dedication and involvement in the health and research sectors." The Peninsula also referred to the statements of Minister of Public Health HE Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari who said "this year, more than ever before, the role of healthcare professionals has been valued here in Qatar and around the world. Throughout Qatars comprehensive strategy to confront COVID-19 our healthcare teams in the health sector have been at the forefront of the countrys response. They have worked round-the-clock, under enormous pressure, to ensure we deliver the best healthcare services, not only to patients affected by COVID-19, but also to the many thousands of nonCOVID-19 patients who still relied on our essential services. I feel incredibly honoured to be part of such a skilled and dedicated workforce of healthcare heroes." In the conclusion of its editorial, the newspaper confirmed that the fight against COVID-19 and the low mortality rate has proved that Qatars healthcare system has the efficiency to respond to a pandemic.
