The Peninsula: Qatar is Sports Hub and Capable of Hosting Successful Asian Games

Doha, November 15 (QNA) - The Peninsula newspaper highlighted in its Sunday editorial the visit of the Olympic Council of Asias (OCA) Evaluation Committee to Doha last week to evaluate Qatar's 2030 Asian Games bid pledges.
The newspaper placed emphasis on the fact that Doha's infrastructure to host FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 raises its chances to win the bid to host 2030 Asian Games, adding that OCA team were taken around to some of the world's best sporting venues and destinations.
The OCA team visited the Aspire Academy, the worlds largest indoor sports facility, and the Aspetar Sports Medicine Hospital, in addition to the beIN sports channels headquarters and the Lusail Sports Arena, according to the Peninsula.
It added that OCA team also spent time at Qatar Foundation where the visiting guests were shown the Education City Stadium before making their way to Al Shaqab Arena. Additionally, they also visited Al Bidda Tower, which included a stop at the headquarters of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the body tasked with planning, preparing and delivering the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The newspaper concluded its editorial by emphasizing the statements by the head of the Committee Andrey Kryukov, who said that "the committee is satisfied with what we saw and believes Dohas existing infrastructure and sustainable concept has lot to offer for a successful Asian Games in 2030."
The Peninsula stressed that this statement adds sheen to Dohas standing as a sports hub of Asia. (QNA)
