Pensions to raise in 2010
Astana, November 25, 2009 (Khabar) - Size of pensions, this was one of questions during the “direct link with the President” on November 13. The minimum pension will reach 18,325 tenge with an account taken of the basic amount in Kazakhstan. This has been announced at the ministry of labour and social security. Pension payments will grow by 25% already in January.
Kulbadan Katenova, pensioner:
- The pension increases by 25% on an annual basis. And this year, on the 13th of November our president announced that there will be an increment by 25% which makes us happy.
Pension payments have been increased in 2009 and they will also be raised in 2010 for each and every retiree, according to officials of the labour ministry. The resolution has already been prepared and corresponding work on lists is being carried out at the local level.
Svetlana Zhakupova, Director, Social Security and Insurance Department, Ministry of Labour and Social Security of RK:
- The minimum pension amounts to 9,075 tenge today and from the 1st of January 2010 it will reach 13,044 tenge. Concerning the average amounts, they will be increased by 25% in 2010 and stand at around 21,500 tenge.
546 billion tenge are provided for pensions in the 2010 budget. According to the labour ministry, payments will be distributed without any delays starting from January.
