People invited to wear yellow shirts to mark King’s birthday

BANGKOK, May 31 (TNA) – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has prepared for the celebrations of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s birthday on July 28. Public members are invited to wear yellow shirts throughout July and to decorate buildings with the King’s portraits, national flags and flags bearing royal initials. Patarut Dardarananda, Permanent Secretary for BMA presided over the meeting on preparation for various activities on His Majesty the King’s birthday anniversary. Ratchadamnoen Nok Avenue, Ratchadamneon Klang Avenue, Ratchadamneon Nai Avenue, Sanam Luang and the City Hall will be decorated with flags and lights. The BMA plans various activities for public members to join at Sanam Luang from July 27-29. The Social Development Department will offer workshops on Thai art and crafts at the occupation training tents from 10 am to 9 pm. Ten workshops include basket weaving, garland making, Thai dessert cooking, patchwork to make key holders and traditional scented sachets. Medical Service Department and Health Department will set up a first-aid unit for participants. The Department of Drainage and Sewerage and district offices will lead BMA officials and volunteers in the clean-up campaigns at canals, schools and temples. A blood donation unit will be set up at the city hall. There will be a microcar parade to celebrate His Majesty the King’s birthday anniversary, running from the City Hall to Sanam Luang. (TNA)
