Phuket welcomes FIFA World Cup Trophy

PHUKET, Jan 26 (TNA) - People in Phuket welcomed the FIFA World Cup Trophy as the international football federation FIFA organised the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour in Thailand there on Jan 26-27. The trophy arrived on a jet of Coca-Cola Company at 11am at Phuket airport. It was carried by Christian Karembeu, a former French footballer who played for the French World Cup champion team. Phuket deputy governor Sanit Sriwihok and Maj Gen Pachara Rattakul, chief operating officer of Haadthip Plc, received the visiting delegation. Thailand is among 51 countries to welcome the trophy before the World Cup in Russia. It has been shown for the fourth time here. The first occasion happened in 2006. The FIFA World Cup Trophy will be put on display at the Central Festival shopping centre in Phuket on Jan 27. Enthusiasts can see the trophy and take its pictures from 10am to 6pm. Vientiane is its next destination. (TNA)
