Pink Caravan to benefit from Ralph Lauren's Pink Pony Collection

Sharjah: Pink Caravan, the nationwide breast cancer awareness initiative by the Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP) charitable society, is for the first time to be direct beneficiaries of Ralph Lauren's "Pink Pony T-shirts" collection for the month of October. Throughout October, which is marked globally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, proceeds from a range of t-shirts by the world renowned label will be donated to Pink Caravan in a bid to help spread awareness and raise funds to cover treatment costs for cancer patients. The t-shirts will be available exclusively at Ralph Lauren retail stores in Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and BurJuman Centre. The Pink Pony campaign aims to generate significant funds from the sale of the limited edition T-shirts for programmes dedicated to supporting early breast cancer diagnosis, education and treatment. In the UAE, breast cancer patients stand to benefit through the free, specialised breast cancer services offered to people across the Emirates by Pink Caravan. Commenting on the initiative, Secretary-General for the Friends of Cancer Patients Charitable Society and Head of the Pink Caravan's Medical and Awareness committee, Dr. Sawsan Al Madhi, said, "It is fantastic that fashion firms and retailers have embraced the notion of a Pink October by creating special items to raise funds for cancer education and treatment.
