Plans prepared for restoration of Tham Luang
BANGKOK, July 16 (TNA) -- The Department National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Director Genreal Thanya Netithammakun today reported on the plan to restore the Tham Luang - Khun Nam Nang Norn cavern in Mae Sai district in Chiang Rai province.
Mr Thanya stated that short term and long term plans for the refurbishment was being drafted and a report will be presented to Gen Surasak Karnjanarat for consideration.
The director genaral said that his receint visit on July 15, he had found that the Tham Luang cavern and surrounding area had been badly damaged by the rescue operation of the 12 boys and his football coach who trapped in the flooded cave.
As such, preliminary restoration work has already been 'kicked off'. Some of these include the removal of hoses that were used to drain water from within the caverns. (TNA)
