PM calls on Thais to extend best wishes for HRH Crown Prince, affirms Thailand’s readiness for AC

BANGKOK, July 28 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra calls on Thai people to extend their best wishes to His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn on the occasion of his fifth cycle or 60th birthday anniversary, which falls on July 28. Speaking during her weekly broadcast programme, Yingluck said that best wishes nationwide echo the public royalty to the Thai Crown Prince. Meanwhile, the premier affirmed Thailand’s readiness for a single community of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), in which Thailand is a key member, which is scheduled to be formed by 2015. The prime minister said that concerned public agencies have been told to work together, particularly on economic, social and security aspects, which are three main pillars of the ASEAN Community (AC), to ensure that they are all moving in the same direction. Premier Yingluck also revealed that Thailand and neighbouring Myanmar in the 10-nation ASEAN have signed agreements on bilateral economic cooperation, covering the development of Myanmar's Dewei deep seaport and land transportation linking western Dawei and Thailand's eastern Lamchabang deep seaports, as well as joint human resource development and energy projects. The agreements were signed during an official visit to Thailand by Myanmar President U Thein Sein earlier this week, marking the first Myanmar presidential visit to the Thai Kingdom in 57 years.
