PM Discusses With His Dutch Counterpart Iraq's Relations With And Cooperation in Combating Terrorism

Baghdad / NINA / - Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi met, in New York, with his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings. During the meeting, according to a statement by Al-Kadhimi's office, they discussed relations between Iraq and the Netherlands, the overall Iraqi relations with the European Union countries, and cooperation in the fight against terrorism and the pursuit of ISIS remnants. The two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various economic and investment fields, development fields, confronting the effects of drought, working to develop water treatment methods, and adopting modern methods of irrigation, as part of efforts to meet the challenges of climate change. Al-Kadhimi stressed, during the meeting: “Iraq is proceeding with economic reform, which has enabled it to achieve important growth rates, mitigate the impact of global crises and the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, and that Iraq has initiated important and strategic programs and projects to advance the economy.”/ End
