PM insists on peaceful solutions in Thai far South
NEW YORK, September 27 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has told the US press that her administration adheres to peaceful solutions in the violence-plagued Thai far South.
Yingluck sent the message in an interview with the US-based Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, during her trip to attend the 67th United Nations General Assembly in New York from September 23-29, saying that she hopes her message will boost foreigners’ confidence in Thailand.
Yingluck also referred to her delegation which includes Thai business operators who are studying business opportunities in the United States, especially in jewelry, fashion and food industries.
During the ongoing trip, the Thai premier also visited the High Line Park and the Grand Central Terminal in New York to inspect the development of the US urban areas and the management of the large-scaled mass rail transit system, during which she exchanged views on city planning with well-known senior experts Amanda M Burden and Janette Sadik-Khan, who explained the city planning of New York and metropolitan traffic systems.
After the visit, Yingluck told TNA that the High Line Park in New York was developed on an elevated railway structure and could improve the urban environment and she wishes to apply the ideas in Thailand. (TNA)
