PM to inspect Japan’s bullet train, OTOP

BANGKOK, April 22 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Sunday said she would observe Japan’s bullet train system, as well as the country’s initiative of One Tambon One Product (OTOP). Miss Yingluck, who is now visiting Japan, attended a meeting between leaders of the five Mekong nations with Japan on Saturday. She and accompanying officials travelled to Fukuoka international airport on Sunday morning, before proceeding to Hakata Station to attend a briefing on the bullet train and its safety system. She was also scheduled to later travel to Kumamoto Prefecture to learn about the country’s OTOP project. Miss Yingluck told reporters that she had visited Kumamoto Prefecture before when people there initially started the OTOP project, and that this visit would allow her to see the progress made and enable her government to improve OTOP projects back at home. The Thai premier was scheduled to arrive home late on Sunday. (TNA)
