PM thanks SKorean investment in Thailand

BANGKOK, February 21 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra thanks South Korean investors for planning to expand their investment in Thailand. Yingluck extended the gratitude through newly-appointed South Korean Ambassador to Thailand Jeon Jae-man on Thursday, when the South Korean top diplomat paid a courtesy call on her at Bangkok's Government House to introduce himself. The Thai premier also congratulated the South Korean ambassador on his new position and asked him to help enhance bilateral relations and cooperation, as both Bangkok and Seoul celebrate the 55th anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year. On the occasion, the prime minister invited South Korean business operators to invest in new infrastructure development projects in Thailand and in the Dawei special economic zone in neighbouring Myanmar, in which South Korea has shown it interest. The South Korean top envoy also extended a gratitude towards the Thai government for its cooperation with South Korea and handed a letter from the South Korean government to the Thai prime minister, in which Seoul welcomes Premier Yingluck for her upcoming visit to South Korea to attend the swearing-in of newly-elected South Korean President Park Geun-hye.
