PM to visit Tham Luang cave

BANGKOK, June 28 (TNA) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha is scheduled to visit the Tham Luang-Khun Nam Nang Non cave in Chiang Rai on Friday or Saturday to give moral support for families of missing school boys and boost morale of rescuers, said a government spokesman, Sansern Kaewkamnerd. The spokesman said the prime minister kept updates with the report of the rescue operation from Interior Minister Gen Anupong Paochinda. He instructed officials not to hold any welcome event for him in order to let the operation carry on without interruption. The purpose of his trip is to give moral support for the families of 12 young football players and the coach as they have camped outside the cave, awaiting the news of their missing children since Saturday. He also wants to boost morale of rescuers, who have been working for several days and listen to obstacles and suggestions. Lt Gen Sansern said in his capacity as the director-general of the government-run Public Relations Department that the media center is set up at the site for management of news reporting on the location, so it does not disturb or obstruct the rescue operation. Reporters will be allowed to enter the designated zone once or twice a day. (TNA)
