PM Wishes Happy Kaamatan And Gawai Day

KUALA LUMPUR, June 1(Bernama) -- Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad wishes Happy Kaamatan and Gawai Day to the Kadazandusun in Sabah and Dayak community in Sarawak. “Sorry if the wishes came a little too late because I was busy with the work that needs to be done by a prime minister,” he said in a video posted on his Twitter and Facebook pages. He also expressed hope that those celebrating would enjoy the Kaamatan Festival and Gawai Day celebrations. The Kaamatan or Harvest Festival in Sabah is a month-long festival for the Kadazandusun community with the peak of the celebration falls on May 30 and 31, while the Gawai Day will be celebrated on June 1 and 2 by the Dayak community in Sarawak. -- BERNAMA
