Police fully equipped, ordered to handle terrorism

Manama, Jan. 30 (BNA): Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa today visited the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science (CID) for a briefing on the security situation in Bahrain and the progress of several ongoing cases. He expressed thanks and appreciation to the department’s personnel for their excellent security efforts and coordination with other police authorities. He ordered CID personnel to continue their efforts in current investigations. He said the terrorist crime that resulted in the death of the late First-Lt. Hisham Hassan Mohammed Al Hamadi will be handled, like all cases in Bahrain, in accordance with the law. He said police are fully equipped with weapons and training as well as clear orders to deal with all forms of terrorism, including armed attacks. The minister said the use of weapon in the case in Bilad Al Qadeem is evidence of the state of despair and frustration of those cowardly groups, adding that counterterrorism operations will continues to eliminate the dangerous groups and their conspirators. The minister offered deepest condolences to the family of the fallen officer, his colleagues and all Bahrainis and prayed to God to rest his soul in eternal peace and grant fortitude to his family.
