Police seize big haul of illegal drug in Songkhla

SONGKHLA, April 11 (TNA) – Songkhla police seized 954,000 methamphetamine pills, having a street value of about 48 million baht. The police found the drug, hidden in a Narathiwat-registered pick-up truck, believed en route to the deep South. It is one of the biggest drug busts in Songkhla. Acting o n a tip-off on transportation of a large haul of drug, the police from Saba Yoi district patrolled the targeted area and found a suspicious vehicle. The police gave the driver a signal to pull over for a search, but the driver sped away, parked the pick-up on an uphill road and escaped into the forest. It is unknown how many passengers were in the vehicle. The police searched the vehicle and found the drug, believed to be destined to southern border provinces. Further investigation will be conducted to find the owner of the vehicle. (TNA)
