Political Affairs Undersecretary meets with ranking member of US Senate Foreign Relations Committee

Washington, Oct. 9 (BNA): Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, met here with ranking member of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator Jim Risch. During the meeting, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed affirmed Kingdom of Bahrain's pride in its comprehensive strategic relations with the friendly United States of America, noting the effective efforts made by the two countries to ensure international peace and security. The Undersecretary for Political Affairs explained that the Abraham Accords matches the comprehensive reform approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which is based on the principles of security, coexistence and prosperity, reviewing the positions and initiatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to consolidate the foundations of peace and the promotion of mutual understanding in the Middle East. The two sides also discussed ways to promote bilateral cooperation and issues of common concern during the meeting.
