Postal stamps issued to mark centennary anniversary of Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall
BANGKOK, March 15 (TNA) -- The Thailand Post and Sirikit Institute have jointly created postal stamps to celebrate the centenary anniversary of the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, aiming to portray the beautiful architectures through the stamp as souvenirs for the public to collect.
The set commemorative stamps created in celebrations of the throne hall's first century anniversary is special because apart from being created to the celebrate the throne hall's 100th anniversary since its establishment, the stamps would present beautiful valuable architectures to the eyes of the people nationwide and around the world.
The Sirikit Institute has provided a copy of the throne hall's design to the Thailand Post in order to be used as the stamp design, which have been completed through a special technique of spot UV printing on the hall, making it stand out in the stamp, while special colouring has been used to replicate the exact colour of the throne hall's green roof to ensure that the picture on the stamps is duplicated as close as possible to the actual throne hall.
Only 500,000 of these special stamps were sold for the first day on March 14, at the price of 5 bath each and 14 baht per package. The stamps have also been printed in a 4 by 4 set packed into a special set of four colours of silver, gold, copper, and blue, which would only be sold at the Sirikit Institute and the Arts of the Kingdom Museum located at the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall.
