Posters by Iranian artists selected for Italian exhibit

TEHRAN,May 28(MNA) -- Posters by nine Iranian graphic designers have been selected for a summer exhibition organized by the Social Design Poster, an online Italian graphic design contest. Ehsan Mahdavi, Erfan Kamali, Babak Safari, Milad Askari and Saeid Behdad are among the selected Iranian designers, and Anna Gizella Varga from Hungary has been announced as the absolute winner of the contest. The jury has selected 70 posters out of 650 submitted works from different countries for the contest’s exhibit that is entitled “Seeds of Peace: the Healing Power of Dialogue”. However, according to the website of the contest, details about the exhibition location and dates will be announced later. A catalogue containing the best posters will also be published on the sidelines of the exhibit. The first 5 top designers will receive a free copy of the catalogue. “Autism” and “Design vs Poverty” were the central theme of the two previous editions of the contest in 2009 and 2010. The Social Design Poster was created in 2008 by Sergio Olivotti, adjunct professor at the Politecnico di Milano. Organizers believe that designs can change the world and can help people to be more open-minded.
