Power investment projects discussed

Manama, Nov. 22(BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received a delegation from Lamar Holding Company, headed by its President, LinaNoureddineto discuss opportunities of investment in the electricity and water sector. The minister praised the company’s efforts to promote economic activity in the country. During the meeting, the delegation informed the minister on the company’s willingness to invest in power plants. The minister said the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) welcomed such projects and investments by international institutions to meet the demand for electricity and water services and its future needs. He said this comes as part of the government’s policy for closer cooperation between the Government and the private sector in the field of power plants and water production facilities. Ms. Noureddine and other officials thanked the minister and EWA authorities for the warm reception and hospitality. EWA Executive Vice President of Distribution and Customer Services Adnan Mohammed Fakhro was present.
