Pracharat markets launched nationwide
BANGKOK, Dec 6 (TNA) - The government on Tuesday launched more than 6,500 Pracharat community markets to provide more retail channels for local businesses and to promote grassroots economy.
In Bangkok, the Klong Padung Krungkasem market, the model of the Pracharat market is also opened near Government House from Dec 5-7, said Advisor to the Commerce Minister Nutthaporn Jatusripitak.
The Pracharat market campaign is initiated by the government to provide space for farmers, small scale producers, vendors to sell their products directly to customers.
More than 122,000 people have registered to reserve the space to sell locally made products at the Pracharat markets. Most of registrants or about 47,000 people were in the Northeast, said Nutthaporn.
The first top three products, which they want to sell, are farm products, ready-to-eat food and clothes.
About 20,000 applicants have no experience in selling goods, so they will be trained in marketing techniques to help them boost sales, he added. (TNA)
