Premier’s housing directives hailed

Manama, Oct. 8 (BNA): The directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa to construct 5000 housing units in East Sitra before the end of this year won praise. “The Premier’s move reflects the Government’s keenness on meeting the royal directives to build 40,000 units”, said Housing Minister Basim bin Yacoub Al-Hamer, stressing commitment to construct 25,000 units by 2018 under the Government Action Plan (GAP). In a statement today, he paid tribute to HRH the Premier, hailing his keenness on fast-tracking housing projects so as to cater to pending applications on the waiting lists. He announced that a technical team would be set up to supervise preliminary procedural steps to start construction 5000 housing units in East Sitra. He pointed out coordination with the Ministry of Finance, Eskan Bank and other relevant parties to carry out the Premier’s directives on funding the East Sitra Housing Project through international companies.
