Premier calls for concerted national efforts

Manama, Nov. 28 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has stressed the need to be aware of the size of the national responsibility placed on everybody. There is no room for differences today, as the "push and pull" policy serves no one but the enemies of the nation and those preying on it and on every attained achievement, HRH Premier said, reiterating the government's keenness to ensure that its action is complementary to that of the Legislative Branch, out of its conviction that accomplishments can be attained through collective, not individual, efforts which, he stressed, doubles them. The Prime Minister made the statements while receiving at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, as well as MPs and Shura Council members, in the presence of former Speaker, Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani. HRH Premier reviewed with the attendees the progress of the government-parliament cooperation, and ways to enhance it, in the midst of the current developments which require every national effort in order to deal with them in the best way. In this regard, the Prime Minister urged to step up cooperation between the Executive and Legislative branches, now more than ever, in light of the current developments and the tremendous efforts being exerted by the government to safeguard the kingdom against their economic and security repercussions. HRH Premier called for building momentum and boosting determination to take the initiative in everything that may serve the nation, upgrade the citizens' living standards and bring about more gains that would strengthen the kingdom's leading role that have covered many fields. HRH the Prime Minister voiced pride in the role played by the citizens and their representatives in the "House of the People" in highlighting irregularities, and assisting the government in addressing shortcomings in various fields, if there are any. Constructive criticism seeking to achieve national goals enjoy the interest and follow-up of the government, HRH Premier said, stressing that clear directives have already been issued to government departments to interact promptly with criticism, and address them.
