Premier congratulates GPU President, Secretary General

Manama, Jan. 16 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa sent a cable of congratulations to President of the Gulf Press Union (GPU) Khalid Hamad Al Malik on being elected uncontested to his post in the opening of the union's 6th conference yesterday in Bahrain. HRH the Premier stressed that the election reflects his colleagues' trust in him and his professional competence to continue developing journalism locally and at the GCC level. HRH the Prime Minister wished the Gulf Press Union President every success in his duties and in further cementing the GCC fraternal ties, stressing Bahrain's support to the union. HRH the Premier sent a similar cable to the union's Secretary General Isa Al-Shaiji, the Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ayam newspaper.
