Premier hails US Administration's support

Manama, Apr. 23 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has valued highly the US Administration, led by President Donald Trump, for its understanding and support towards the Kingdom of Bahrain and its friendly countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and other Arab countries. HRH the Prime Minister lauded the tremendous efforts exerted by the US Administration in its war against terrorism everywhere and firmly, stressing that maintaining security and stability in the region requires collective action to address the threat of terrorism. He emphasised that there is an urgent need for the support of brotherly and friendly countries to overcome the security and international economic challenges facing the region. HRH Premier made the statements while receiving, at the Gudaibiya Palace today, the US Ambassador to Bahrain, William Roebuck, with whom he discussed bilateral relations, and ways to bolster them in various fields. The US ambassador expressed his country's appreciation of Bahrain's stances in support of its efforts to combat terrorism and all forms of violence that pose a threat to peoples' security. He also congratulated HRH the Prime Minister on the graduation of his granddaughter Shaikha Aisha bint Rashid Al Khalifa from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in London. HRH Premier underlined the Kingdom's interest in opening up new horizons of cooperation and coordination with friendly USA in various fields through optimising benefits from joint agreements. The Prime Minister also highlighted the kingdom's keenness on expanding areas of cooperation with the US, especially in the economic, trade, investment and sports fields, as well as on increasing the benefits from the economic and trade agreements signed between the two countries to achieve the common interests of the two sides. The meeting also touched upon the latest regional and international developments of mutual interest, and stressed the two countries' shared keenness on consolidating security and stability in the region and the world. Ambassador Roebuck expressed thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for his interest in developing bilateral relations, affirming his country's keenness on enhancing cooperation with Bahrain in various fields to serve the interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.
