Premier to honour press award winners on Tuesday

Manama, May 8 (BNA): A ceremony will be held on Tuesday to honour the winners of the Khalifa bin Salman Press Award. His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa will patronise the prize-distribution ceremony and award the winners in recognition of their outstanding work. The Ministry of Information Affairs is organising the event marking the International Press Freedom Day and Bahrain Press Day. The award will acknowledge the best press interview, report, columnist and photo. A jury made up of journalists, media and academic figures assessed the entries and chose the winners. The Premier allocated the annual Khalifa bin Salman Press Award which was launched to support the national press and encourage the media community. This year's award embodies Bahrain's press strides in the era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa and his wise Government, chaired by HRH the Premier. The celebration reflects the Premier's keenness on attending the ceremony personally and awarding the winners in recognition of journalists' dedication in serving the nation.
