Premier Minister and Astana mayor inspect construction sites

Astana, May 29, 2009 (Khabar) - Two new objects will appear in the capital. According to the tradition, they will be put into exploitation on City Day. Prime Minister Karim Massimov and the Astana city mayor Imangali Tasmagambetov inspected some of Astana construction sites. Earlier during the sitting on Astana development, President instructed to end all planned city infrastructure and architectural objects in time. Two important infrastructure items such as the M-3 Bridge and Bogenbai Batyr Avenue are set to be put into operation ahead of Capital city day. State commission members who supervise over the construction of Astana’s new downtown also paid a visit to a locomotive assembling plant. This is a 9 billion US dollar project. According to constructors, the factory is expected to start operating in the third quarter of this year. The primary production capacity of the plant will be 28 locomotives per year. Later on, the enterprise plans to produce up to 100 locomotives annually. The plant’s output will also be exported, basically, to other CIS states. Karim Massimov and Imangali Tasmagambetov also visited 10 construction sites including reside national complexes and a new university located on the left-bank area of Astana as well as a 3.5-thousand-seat concert hall. The trip around Astana ended with a meeting where the Premier asked for construction rates to be retained.
