Premier to patronise inauguration of media development projects

Manama, Nov. 7 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa will patronize tomorrow the inauguration of a number of projects pertaining to developing Bahrain TV, the News Centre and the National Communication Centre (NCC). The move is part of the government's initiatives to upgrade national media, keep it abreast of international media developments and boost its capability to project Bahrain's civilisational and development achievements. HRH the Prime Minister's keenness to patronize the inauguration of the new facilities at the Information Affairs Ministry stems from a strong belief in the pivotal role of the national media in highlighting Bahrain's accomplishments spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. It also reflects keenness on constant development of the official media to boost its competitiveness. Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi voiced, on behalf of the Information Ministry personnel, appreciation of HRH the Premier's patronage of the inauguration of the new facilities. He stressed that it mirrors HRH the Prime Minister's unwavering support to the national media to promote its role in fast-tracking Bahrain's development and democratic achievements, preserving the kingdom's Arab and Islamic identity and defending national, GCC and Arab security. The Information Minister lauded the farsighted vision of HRH the Premier to develop the media and telecommunication sector and enhance cooperation with regional and international mass media while relying on national and well-qualified competencies and utilizing modern technologies. The inauguration of NCC is a translation of HRH the Prime Minister's continuous directives to boost the role of the media, unify the government's media discourse and back the government's development efforts. The move reflects HRH the Premier's keenness to further optimise media services by providing all needed technical and human resources for the official media to assume its national responsibilities while keeping abreast of cutting edge technologies.
