Premier receives Board Chairman of Al Baraka Banking Group

Manama, Mar. 19 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa stressed that developing the economy is a goal, that security and stability are the way to it and that sustainable development is the aim. He underlined the need to parallel development trends with strong cooperation with countries and private institutions, mainly in the financial and banking sectors which have witnessed a remarkable success in their contribution to the economic system and employing the national workforce. HRH the Premier was speaking as he received at Gudaibiya Palace today Saudi businessman Shaikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel, the Board Chairman of Al Baraka Banking Group. He affirmed strong relations between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia and growing bilateral cooperation mainly in the financial and banking field. He underscored the need to boost efficacy of the Islamic banking and financial institutions and their contribution to the economy, commending the efforts of Shaikh Saleh Kamel in developing the Islamic banking industry. The meeting also shed light on issues pertaining to the banking sector and the importance of preserving the positive outcome of the Islamic banks at all levels. On his part, Shaikh Saleh Kamel expressed appreciation of HRH the Premier's support to Al Baraka Banking Group, praising Bahrain's status as a regional financial and banking hub thanks to security, stability and sound legislation.
