Premier's directives to adopt open-door policy welcomed

Manama, Dec. 24 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi praised the directives of HRH the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to ministers and officials to interact with the media and press, establish cooperation with the legislative authority and municipal councils and conduct field visits to learn about citizens’ needs for public services. The Information Minister highlighted citizens and media and press communities’ welcome to the directives of HRH the Premier to adopt the open-door policy, which is an essential foundation for increasing transparency in government to upgrade quality and efficiency of public services and projects. The Minister pointed out the media commitment to take on responsibilities based on transparency, objectivity, credibility and defending the homeland’s security and stability, in addition to promoting the national gains, the respect for the rule of law and values of national unity, friendship and tolerance. He said that HRH the Premier’s directives have positively affected the progress of the ongoing service and development projects. He commended the memo raised to the Cabinet by Deputy Premier also Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Construction and Infrastructure, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, on the completed and under-construction public services and infrastructure projects.
