Preparations for charity work award reviewed

Manama, Sept. 10 (BNA): Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Honorary President of Bahrain Society for the Care of Parents, received the society's Board Chairman and Head of the organising committee of his award for charity work Ahmed Al Banna. They reviewed preparations for the 5th edition of Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Charity Work which will be held on October 3 in conjunction with the International Day for Older Persons. They also reviewed names of the Gulf charity institutions from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Sharjah in the UAE, which will be honoured this year for their pioneering and distinguished role in humanitarian and philanthropic work. The Southern Governor directed to add four new categories to be honoured as part of his award. They are relief work, providing services for the elderly, charity social services and literary work in the charity field. Pioneering figures in charity work alongside distinguished national personalities will also be honoured. The Southern Governor received the 7th edition of a magazine on good treatment of parents which was issued by Bahrain Society for the Care of Parents and  highlights the society's activities in the last period.
