Preparations for elections media coverage in full swing

Manama, Oct. 20 (BNA): The Information Ministry started preparations to cover the legislative and municipal elections 2018 immediately after the issuance of the royal decree setting the date for the elections on November 24. The Information Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Radio and Television Affairs Abdullah Khalid Al Dussari said the ministry, in line with the directives of Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi, will dedicate all its capabilities to covering the elections, highlighting the democratic festival and conveying to the world Bahrain’s civilisational image. He added that there are clear directives from the Information Minister to dedicate all the ministry’s technical and human capabilities for a full and direct coverage of the elections. “The radio and television sector has national competencies who will make the world follow the democratic event within the context of the reform project of HM the King,” he said, pointing out that Bahrain radio and television will soon start daily coverage of the electoral process in many specialised programmes. He also noted that the Information Ministry will inaugurate a state-of-the-art media centre for the forthcoming elections to facilitate work of journalists and media persons from Bahrain and beyond who will be present for the coverage of the major national event.
