PRESIDENT MEETS LEADER OF NATIONAL LEAGUE OF MYANMAR

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj Tuesday held a round table meeting with the chairperson and General Secretary of the National League for Democracy of Myanmar Ms Aung San Suu Kyi.
The meeting ran at the Standing committee of the Assembly of this country.
The leader of Mongolia said he is pleased to see the people gathered and to run this first state visit to Myanmar since 1956 when the diplomatic relations were established between our countries.
He noted that Mongolia has great experience to share and invited the officials present to visit our country and witness all the achievements gained in the democracy.
The President is glad to see a prosperity of the bilateral relations, for example, a day ago our two countries signed the visa waiving agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders yesterday, "and there are so big opportunities to collaborate in the mining sector".
In developing its mining sphere Mongolia had many problems "but we are confident that everything will go well, for Mongolia is the open state", he said, adding "not only mining but also other sectors are open, so every Mongolian expresses his/her criticism or opinion and takes part in the country's development".
In response, Ms Aung San Suu Kyi thanked Mr Elbegdorj for visiting Myanmar, noting "You have become the first Mongolian to visit our country after 730 years".
Our two nations have historical connections, the Myanmar people are proud that their "newborn babies have blue marks as the Mongolian babies do", so "we are glad to receive You warmly and to have You stay here as the close brother," she said.
Apart of this, Mongolia and Myanmar have overcome same difficulties in their way to the democracy, the nation of Myanmar had forfeited their human rights for many years while Mongolia underwent many challenges such as democracy transition, "today we are doing our best to bring the hope back for the nation. The opportunities never wait us just we must make it by ourselves. This is our long-term goal to resurging hopes and confidence for our nation. We believe that your country will assist and support our country to reach our goal," she said.
Mr Elbegdorj said that, after a completion of his president's mission he would come back to Myanmar and meet with the nation and Ms Aung San Suu Kyi, but before this he wants them to visit our country.
He also underlined that "no single drop of blood was shed and no single window was broken while we were struggling for bringing the democracy to Mongolia", and in these deeds their parts played the amendments to the Constitution and to a law on elections.
The Mongolians also have broken an understanding of running the transition to democracy step-by-step, this is especially strongly spread in the Asian countries. "We, the Mongolians, are proud that we did all the stages on one fell swoop and have managed to create a multiparty structure and the market system," the leader of Mongolia said.
