The President visited New Year party in orphanage
Astana, December 31, 2009 (Khabar) - Nursultan Nazarbayev wished a Happy New Year to local children at the capital city orphanage. The head of state visits these children on a regular basis. They are known to be under the president’s personal guardianship. The children’s home was extensively repaired and this hall along with four multistoried mansions was built after the Kazakh leader’s previous visit.
Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of RK:
- I have come to congratulate you and wish you happiness, and through you I congratulate all the children of Kazakhstan.
This is the most unusual children’s home in Kazakhstan and not only because the head of state himself watches over its children’s well-being. Children enjoy special attention here. Boys and girls of various ages live in big families of 15 people with child minders taking the place of their parents. According to educationalists, this method has proven to be very effective. The president requested the building of large houses for large families at the orphanage. There are neither C nor D pupils here. Pursuit of success is being fostered in pupils from childhood which results in the high level of their knowledge. Dormitory accommodation and a special scholarship are provided for orphanage graduates when they enter a university. This scholarship amounts to around 50 thousand tenge thanks to the sponsors’ support.

- Orphanages are repaired all over the Kazakhstan, conditions are created and I always ask to support and render assistance to orphanages. The state helps you in order you grow worthy people. You should value it and do your best to become good citizens of our country that takes care of you.
The orphanage has become unrecognizable after extensive repairs. The walls are practically all that remained from the old building. A sports hall was supplied with fitness equipment and all the classrooms were computerized and equipped with interactive whiteboards.
These children happened to be deprived of parental love and family life against their own will. The state has attempted to do everything to make them have a good start in life and not to feel disadvantaged.
