Prince Mahidol Award Conference

BANGKOK, Feb 2 (TNA) -- Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn opened the Prince Mahidol Award Conference in Bangkok on Feb 1. The conference is set at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld on Feb 1-3. It is organised with the theme of “Making the World Safe from the Threats of Emerging Infectious Diseases”. The conference is a forum for experts, academics and high-level representatives of international, medical and health organisations to discuss important health issues. Thailand expects to benefit from the conference in terms of Thai medical officials’ networking with international counterparts, tourism and the presentation of Thai health and medical achievements. On the occasion, Dr Eric Green, director of the United States’ National Human Genome Research Institute, delivered his speech on human genome. HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn also opened an exhibition on Prince Mahidol’s life and work for Thai medicine and public health. The work of Mahidol Award winners and health care tips were also exhibited in the same venue. (TNA)
