Psy's 'Daddy' tops Billboard chart for 3 weeks

SEOUL, Dec. 30 (Yonhap) -- "Daddy" by the South Korean rapper Psy has stayed atop Billboard's World Digital Songs chart for three consecutive weeks, his management agency said Wednesday. "Daddy" remained No. 1 for the weeks of Dec. 19, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 before sliding down a notch for the week of Jan. 9, YG Entertainment said. Meanwhile, his other hit, "Gangnam Style," has ranked third on the same chart for two consecutive weeks, more than three years after its release. Earlier this month, "Daddy" peaked at 97th place on the Billboard's Hot 100, making Psy the first Asian artist ever to enter the U.S. industry standard chart for four consecutive single releases. As of Wednesday, the music video for "Daddy" has been viewed more than 80 million times on YouTube. Psy released his seventh full-length album on Dec. 1, with "Daddy" being one of its two title tracks. The other one is "Napal Baji," which is catered more toward South Korean listeners.
