Public Security Chief attends GCC meeting

Manama, Nov.3 (BNA): Chief of Public Security Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan took part on Tuesday in the sixth virtual meeting for heads of Integrity protection and anti-corruption authorities in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The meeting reviewed anti-corruption and integrity topics and efforts of Gulf countries in this regard regionally and internationally. After the meeting, the Chief asserted the achievements of Bahrain in the reinforcement of integrity and anti-corruption as part of the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He valued the directives and support of the Interior Ministry for promoting transparency and integrity. He highlighted a series of mechanisms, including the endorsement of the National Anti-corruption Strategy in 2013 and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 that work as a framework to continue fighting corruption as part of a comprehensive economic development system. The Chief highlighted that Bahrain is committed to the implementation of the provisions of the United Nations Convention against Corruption. He highlighted the importance of GCC meetings to unify efforts and exchange expertise and experiences, along with developing international cooperation mechanisms, during international events.
