Q-Post to Mark National Sports Day with New Stamp

Doha, February 11 (QNA) - The Qatar General Postal Corporation (Q-Post) will issue a new stamp to mark Qatar National Sports Day and will honour the players of Qatar Football Team who participated in the first Gulf Cup held in Bahrain in 1970. Q-Post is keen to participate in such a national occasion and will hold a sports day at the Katara Cultural Village from 10 am to 4 pm, Q-Post Acting Chairman Abdulrahman Al Eqaili has told http://www.sportday.qa. The sport activities will include different sports events and competitions as well as a crowning ceremony for winners, he explained. Qatari footballers who will be honoured on this occasion are: Abdulamir Zainal, Mohammad Ghanim Al Rumaihi, HE Ambassador Saleh Al Nasf, Mallah Abdullah, Abdul-Karim Aman, Mubarak Faraj, Khalid Ballan, Hassan Al Suwaidi, Salman Khalifa, Talib Balan, Tatab Al Dafaa, Naser Sorour, Mohammad Kazem, Abdulmajeed Ismail, Mubarak Walid, Abdulah, Salman Al Mas, Saeed Al Missned and Eisa Al Rumaihi. National Sports Day is a pioneering initiative launched by HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Heir Apparent and QOC chief, through an Emiri Decree on December 6, 2011, according to which the second Tuesday of February each year will be celebrated as the country s National Sports Day. Qatar s vision for allocating the National Sports Day is a significant step to help domestic institutions achieve their goals by creating a healthy community at both physical and psychological levels.
