Qatar Central Bank's Foreign Reserves Rise by 2.6% in February 2022

Doha, March 07 (QNA) - International reserves and foreign currency liquidity at Qatar Central Bank (QCB) increased by 2.6% QR 210.395 billion in February 2022, compared to QR 204.912 billion in the same period in 2021. QCB's data indicated that the bank's official reserves increased at the end of February 2022 from February 2021 by about QR 4.478 billion to reach QR 153.207 billion, as a result of the rise in bonds and foreign treasury bills at Qatar Central Bank by about QR 40.524 billion, to reach QR 122.797 billion in February 2022. International reserves consist of four main components: bonds and foreign treasury bills, deposits and cash balances with foreign banks, in addition to gold holdings of the Central Bank, special drawing rights (SDR) deposits, and the State of Qatar's share in the IMF. Other foreign currency liquid assets are added to the international reserves. (QNA)
