Qatar Charity, Turkish Red Crescent Sign MoU

Doha, March 23 (QNA) - Qatar Charity and the Turkish Red Crescent Society signed on Wednesday a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the fields of disaster response and humanitarian aid. The MoU, which comes as an extension of the cooperation agreement signed between the two sides in 2016, aims to enhance cooperation and strategic partnership in implementing joint humanitarian projects and coordinating efforts in relief and humanitarian work. Assistant CEO of the International Operations and Programs Sector at Qatar Charity Nawaf Al Hammadi commended the partnership with the Turkish Red Crescent in implementing many reliefs and humanitarian projects, noting that the new MoU is an extension of the previous agreement and renews the commitment to implement joint projects in the humanitarian relief and development work. Al Hammadi underlined that the cooperation between Qatar Charity and the Turkish Red Crescent will continue and grow further in the coming period, to include coordinated efforts in several areas, most importantly in countries that are experiencing humanitarian crises and require humanitarian intervention, such as Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia. For his part, Director-General of the Turkish Red Crescent Society Dr. Ibrahim Altan expressed pride in the extended partnership with Qatar Charity, which the Turkish Red Crescent considers one of the most important partners. He noted that the two sides implemented many joint projects and programs, looking forward to providing more efforts to achieve the common humanitarian goals. (QNA)
