Qatar Participates in Darfur Regional Authority Celebrations

El Fasher, February 08 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in celebrations that took place today in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, to mark the commissioning of Darfur regional authority, which was established under the Doha peace agreement on Darfur, with a delegation headed by HE the Minister of Justice Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim. HE the Justice Minister attended wit Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmed Bashir, the inaugural ceremony of the regional authority headquarters in El Fasher. HE the Minister of Justice conveyed greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani to the people of Darfur and his sincere wishes that peace would prevail throughout Darfur to enable its people enjoy their resources. In a speech, he gave before a mass rally, held in the city centre, Al-Ghanim also urged parties to the Doha agreement, namely the Government of Sudan and the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM), to work to fulfill their obligations, and appealed to the international partners to provide guarantees, the necessary expertise and contributions to assist the parties to achieve that goal. HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim praised the early recovery plans made by the State of Qatar in Darfur to contribute to stability, which helps the building of peace. (QNA)
