Qatar Red Crescent Society, AmRC Sign MoU to Regulate Bilateral Cooperation

Washington, March 28 (QNA) - Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and the American National Red Cross (AmRC) have signed a memorandum of understanding related to the exchange of knowledge and the implementation of projects and programs in the humanitarian and relief fields.
The agreement was signed by CEO of QRCS Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi, and Senior Vice-President for International Services and Service to the Armed Forces at AmRC Koby Langley, during a visit by a delegation from the QRCS to the United States of America.
The aim of the MoU is to ensure the commitment by QRCS and AMRC to work effectively and in an efficient manner in the following areas: emergency preparedness, response, and recovery; National Society development; tracing of Red Cross messages; and other areas of common interest corresponding to QRCS's and AmRC's strategic plans and needs for cooperation and knowledge transfer.
Under the agreement, both parties will enter into separate project agreements to implement emergency response projects to be agreed upon in the future. Also, their respective personnel will be encouraged to engage in training initiatives, technical exchanges, and other forms of strategic cooperation.
It opens the door for specialists at QRCS and AmRC to pursue the joint development of training and technical curriculum, materials, or information for implementation or in support of humanitarian projects/programs.
In his statement, Al Emadi described the step as "another manifestation of the extraordinary bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the United States of America in political, economic, and humanitarian areas." "The common humanitarian and relief grounds between QRCS and AmRC reflect their sense of responsibility and the two governments' approach of giving to and helping humanity everywhere," he added.
Al Emadi welcomed the broadened horizons of cooperation between the two parties through such official legal instruments, exchange of specialized experience to capitalize on their leading achievements, and unified efforts in several areas, especially in the provision of aid for victims of armed conflict and natural disasters around the world.
The MoU was signed with a view to strengthening humanitarian ties between QRCS and AmRC and building upon the outcomes of the first strategic dialogue that they held virtually in September 2021. (QNA)
