Qatar Scientific Club Manufactures Sterilization Unit in Cooperation with HMC

Doha, August 30 (QNA) - Qatar Scientific Club manufactured a mobile sterilization unit using the UV Light Device in cooperation with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). The Sterilization Unit is an ideal solution to kill viruses and bacteria and is used effectively with the COVID-19 virus, based on documented scientific research. The Unit enables sterilization and disinfection of rooms and corridors of hospitals, schools, government buildings, shopping places and closed public places easily with an efficiency of more than 95%. The Unit is installed on a remote-controlled robot which can move within various corridors and halls and sterilize them. Since the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Qatar Scientific Club has been keen on having a significant role in confronting the pandemic by virtue of its competence as a supportive body for innovation and innovators and based on its social responsibility. The Club formed a specialized committee to follow up on the implementation of projects and products related to addressing the impact of this pandemic. In order to coordinate efforts and raise the level of quality of the products, a joint higher committee was formed by Qatar Scientific Club and Hamad Medical Corporation, headed by Chief of Health Facilities Development and Acting Chief of Business Services at HMC Hamad Al Khalifa, Head of Infection Control at Hamad Medical Corporation Dr. Nasser Ali Al Ansari, and Omar Hasanat from HMC, with the aim of cooperating in the implementation of projects and providing the appropriate advice. Dr. Nasser Ali Al Ansari praised the advanced achievements of Qatar Scientific Club which helped the medical staff in preventing the outbreak of the coronavirus, noting that the new product, which is the mobile sterilization unit using ultraviolet radiation, represents a great national accomplishment and a fruit of the joint cooperation and exchange of experiences between Hamad Medical Corporation and Qatar Scientific Club. Executive Director of Qatar Scientific Club Eng. Rashid Al Rahimi said that the Sterilization Unit has been manufactured in cooperation with doctors and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and Kahramaa, noting that the available capabilities of devices, equipment, experts and engineers has contributed to the rapid implementation of the project and its delivery to HMC in record time. Qatar Scientific Club has previously developed and implemented a medical security robot that performs sterilization tasks and also improves the work of vision units installed in robots. The robot, which depends entirely on advanced systems, was designed and implemented using the IOT and SCADA systems. The robot is connected to control centers to give orders and instructions. It can perform several tasks, including automated sterilization, monitoring and data analysis. (QNA)
