QATARI GENERAL PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO TURKISH DEFENSE MINISTER
ANKARA (A.A) - 17.06.2010 - The Turkish defense minister met the Qatari chief of general staff in Ankara on Thursday.
Major Gen. Hamad bin Ali Al-Attiyah, the chief of General Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, paid a courtesy visit to Turkey's National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul.
"Turkey and Qatar signed a military frame agreement in 2007, and almost 100 Qatari military officers have been trained in Turkey," Gonul said during the meeting.
Al-Attiyah will also meet Turkey's President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Chief of General Staff Gen. Ilker Basbug.
