Qatari, Omani Customs Officials Meet

Doha, February 19 (QNA) - Qatar's General Administration of Customs and a delegation of Omani Customs on Sunday held a meeting to discuss aspects of cooperation between the two countries' departments of Customs and ways to promote the joint work between the two sides. According to a statement issued by the General Administration of Customs, the meeting aims to discuss a project to develop a single-window customs clearance system, which is successfully applied by Qatar's customs, and the possibility of launching it in the Sultanate of Oman. Director General of the General Administration of Customs Ahmed Al Mohannadi hoped that the meeting would achieve the desired success by reaping the maximum benefit from the experiences of the State's customs in the application of the Single Window Project, which is one of the leading projects in the region and the world. It is noteworthy that the Single Window Project is a joint cooperation between the General Administration of Customs and the Supreme Council for Communications and Information Technology (ictQATAR), and aims to increase the efficiency of customs clearance process and easing its procedures with the highest standards of customs security.
